The Spinal Flow Technique is a hands-on healing modality that focusses on healing illness and dis-ease by releasing blockages in the spine caused by unresolved physical, emotional, or chemical stress. Gateways (areas) in the spine correlate with certain parts of the body and spinal blockages represent an obstruction in the flow of information relayed through the nervous system, minimising the effective delivery of messages from the brain to the areas in the body connected to that part of the spine. This prevents the body from maintaining homeostasis and from repairing itself optimally. The Spinal Flow Technique assists in clearing these blockages, restoring the body’s innate ability to heal itself.

Combined with a scientific understanding of the spine and nervous system, the Spinal Flow Technique has an energy healing component to assist the body to heal itself on a physiological but also energetic level.

Spinal energetics – This modality works with the energy field of the body without touching the body directly. A SFT practitioner uses gentle touch to increase the spinal flow through the 33 access points on your spine and head.

Osteopathy – Practitioners focus on the whole body, including sort tissue, where SFT practitioners focus on the 7 Gateways of the spine to increase spinal flow through the spine and body.

Network Chiropractic – Network Chiropractic works with the spinal wave, but they do not recognise the 7 Gateways, which are key in Spinal Flow Technique to identify the cause of illness, pain and dis-ease.

Chiropractic – Spinal Flow Technique does not involve manipulation or cracking of the back but instead focusses its gentle touch on the Life Force Energy, or spinal flow, that moves through the spine and nervous system to reach every cell in your body. Both Chiropractic and Osteopathy also recognise that your body has an innate knowing of how to repair, regulate and renew itself.

Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT) – This technique also works with bolsters to connect to the sacrum. The founder of the Spinal Flow Technique has studied SOT and incorporated aspects of this work into the practice of SFT.
